4 on 4 off shift pattern days

We are seeking a highly organized transport planner with a strong track record in the industry and at least one year of hands-on experience, for our client in the Telford area. The successful candidate will be proficient in Word, Excel, and the full Office 365 suite, and will bring a sharp attention to detail to ensure daily routes are planned efficiently and loads are optimally coordinated.

Salary is negotiable, depending on experience, and will be discussed during the interview process.

Job duties:

• Plan daily and weekly driver routes and delivery schedules, based on customer orders.
• Allocate work to drivers based on availability, location and workload.
• Monitor journeys and adjust routes to avoid delays or disruptions.
• Communicate with drivers, customers and operations teams throughout the day.
• Ensure vehicles and drivers meet legal compliance and working time rules.
• Respond to last minute changes, breakdowns or urgent jobs.
• Track performance including on-time deliveries, milage and efficiency.
• Use transport planning software to manage jobs and resources.
• Support continuous improvement in route planning and cost efficiency.

The successful candidate will:

• Have 1+ years experience in a Transport Planning based position.
• Used planning systems previously.
• Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Have a strong attention to details.
• Be able to meet multiple strict deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
