As a characterization engineer you will validate, debug, and QA high speed SerDes I/Os in our ThunderX ARM Processors group. You will work with IP designers to ensure SerDes I/Os meet electrical compliance requirements. You will perform silicon characterization across process, voltage, and temperature and as well as validate functional tests required for system qualification across various test platforms. You work with test instruments such as oscilloscopes, berts, and VNAs, signal generators etc.

  • Execute SerDes Electrical measurements, debug, and validate against industry specifications.
  • Develop test plans and automate measurements using python Scripting language.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop SerDes electrical tests.
  • Validate and QA SerDes electrical IOs across various test planforms to ensure Silicon functionality.
  • Post-analyze measured data and write characterization results
  • Validation experience of High Speed SerDes IOs such as PCIe, USB, SATA, and OIF-CEI.
  • Experience using test Lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, BERTs, and VNAs..
  • Advanced Scripting skills using python or Perl.
  • Should be well organized, detail oriented and methodical in approach.
  • Should possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Should be a self-driven team player with commitment and passion to own and contribute to project goals.
  • Experience in SI, power measurements and simulation is a plus.
