  • Provide strong technical skills for the production of construction drawings and specifications to design or analyze electrical systems for the installation, interconnection, and control of architectural, electrical and mechanical components. Edit or draft project specifications and a master specification.
  • Perform existing system evaluation and troubleshoot system issues when they arise.
  • Collaborate with Life Time Architecture to understand space program and business owner s unique needs, and provide an integrated solutions.
  • Collaborate with staff of other departments to achieve design goals.
  • Perform construction administration services including responding to questions, reviewing and documenting installed conditions and deficiencies.
  • Stay current with all applicable codes and apply in everyday analysis as applicable.
  • Stablish lighting calculations using software-based calculation tools with reasonable assumptions to meet Life Time s standard lighting distribution and photometric levels.
  • Select light fixtures and control systems based on Life Time Architecture s requirement.
  • Conduct field measuring and checking at construction site to verify existing conditions.
  • Research and develop new solutions for new prototypes and unique projects.
  • Prepare feasibility studies and project cost estimates and perform necessary calculations.
  • Review shop drawing submittals to assure design intent is met.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education:
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Electrical design degree from an accredited program.
  • 7+ years experience in system design with multiple types of electrical building systems.
  • Project management and construction administration experience preferred.
  • Experience with design of power distribution systems including load analysis, voltage drop, and short circuit calculations.
  • Experience with low voltage system design.
  • Familiar with industry Codes and Standards.
  • Ability to positively collaborate with internal teams as well as outside consultants and vendors.
  • Ability to work independently and in team environment with some oversight from senior engineers.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced changing environment.
  • Ability to perform site investigation activities to document existing conditions, including traversing ladders for roof and ceiling space access.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Self-starter, takes initiative and pride in work with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in REVIT MEP, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office products, lighting design software Visual/AGI, Elum tools desired.
  • Experience with SKM is preferred but not required.
