Position Overview

The Sr Manager - IT Assets & Contracts manages the end-to-end lifecycle of software assets for Corporate Information Technology global contracts to drive compliance and maximize value from our software licensing. Ensure all jurisdictions comply with global policies, standards and procedures to meet regulatory, operational, audit and reporting requirements related to Software Asset Management. This role works collaboratively with IT leadership and Technology Procurement to enhance the maturity of the Software Asset Management processes within the enterprise.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Las Vegas Sands Corp.'s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ownership of the Software Asset Management toolset to support the complete software lifecycle. This includes defining requirements, establishing enterprise criteria for software asset management and overseeing and facilitating the implementation and use of the toolset.
  • Develop and implement tools, processes and procedures to automate the collection, storage and reporting of key software data so that the products can be managed across the enterprise in an effective manner. Continuously assesses tool capabilities for software discovery, inventory, and metered software use for key vendor products including Microsoft, TIBCO, VMware, etc.
    • Derive and track global contract entitlements including the license model for each product/service
    • Manage and monitor contracted global software licenses and service consumption
    • Execute and reconcile global software license true-ups and audits
    • Define, reconcile and update software models for vendors managed by Corporate IT
    • Identify unauthorized software usage and disposition according to software license and installation requirements
    • Serve as primary point of contact for any third party license compliance inquiries or audits
    • Perform routine audits to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of IT Software Asset Management processes
    • Produce licensing and usage reports on contracts, service maintenance, and outstanding vendor accounts as requested and during the renewal process
  • Work collaboratively and cross-functionally with various departments to evaluate, assess and optimize enterprise software license requirements and deployments
  • Analyze software usage to determine potential efficiencies and cost saving opportunities
  • Track and communicate property allocation adjustments to IT finance for global enterprise agreements, based on software consumption and reconciliations
  • Establish governance of enterprise licenses and monitor access provisioning
  • Fulfill licensing requests for global IT software portals and/or approve licensing requests
  • Manage the Software Asset Management staff including recruitment, retention, performance reviews, resource assignments, and mentoring of staff
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization to work in the United States

  • Education
    • Bachelor s degree in business, finance, management or a technical subject is required
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Control Board Registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy
  • Experience
    • 5+ years' experience in Information Technology specifically in contract and software asset management and/or procurement
    • IT Asset Management and Discovery Tools experience
    • Experience managing a complex license portfolio across a diverse deployment landscape
    • Expertise in Microsoft licensing models and requirements
    • Experience working in a global organization with resources in various locations
    • Automated asset management systems experience
  • Certifications
    • IAITAM Software Asset Management certification preferred
  • Demonstrate a proven ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and focus on delivering high quality work
  • Strong organization, planning, and execution skills
  • Advanced data analysis and reporting skills
  • Proficiency with presentation and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form
  • Detail oriented and able to manage multiple streams giving attention to each data element
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience
  • Must possess a U.S. passport and be able to travel both domestically and overseas
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays
