Position Overview

The primary responsibility of the Director, Slots Procurement is to closely work with the Casino organizations globally for best-in-class sourcing, negotiating, and contracting of slot equipment and related services.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Las Vegas Sands Corp.'s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Effectively work cross-functionally with Matrix reporting to the VP, Global Procurement and the SVP, Chief Casino Officer (US).
  • Support Slot Operations departments at each location to ensure that their local business requirements are aggregated globally and flow through to the strategic sourcing, negotiating, and contracting with suppliers.
  • Demonstrate excellent people mastery with strong negotiation skills in the slot category envisioning long term financial and service gains by crafting contracts to best control future risk.
  • Lead complex negotiations with suppliers resulting in best in class contracts and results for the company.
  • Maintain good working relationships with senior executives.
  • Meet with stakeholders regularly, understand stakeholders' business roadmap, challenges and opportunities. Support stakeholders in their long term strategic planning.
  • Provide solid and constructive inputs and influence to ensure stakeholders comply with company's sourcing and contracting policies at all times.
  • Conduct meetings with suppliers and stakeholders for long term category strategies' planning and continuous effort in cost savings.
  • Convey maturity, confidence, composure and able to effectively communicate in executive level settings.
  • Complete tasks, department assignments and projects, and meet the deadlines related to those assignments.
  • Evaluate and analyze information to render an opinion or take action based on that information that will impact the department or function.
  • Focus on achieving the goals or objectives of the department using available resources.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization to work in the United States

  • Bachelor's degree required in a Business or related field, or equivalent experience. MBA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of slot experience with good negotiating and contracting results.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, and exceptional demonstrated negotiation results.
  • Experience in negotiation and implementation of large slot contracts.
  • Solid and demonstrated understanding of contract language; both commercial and legal terms
  • Ability to drive selection of suitable suppliers and comprehensive supply base management
  • Strong leadership skills to work with the Slot Operations departments, globally to help better define needs and source competitively while adhering to company contracting principles.
  • Ability to handle various and numerous contracts (MSAs, SOWs, etc.) with varying degrees of scope
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to:

  • Occasionally travel internationally.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • For prolonged periods of time; walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
