FlightSafety International is seeking candidates for a Project Manager role located near DFW Airport. This position is based at our Operations Center and is responsible for initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, implementing, completing and evaluating Operations (specific business initiatives) projects. This role will function cooperatively throughout all levels to successfully support FlightSafety's vision to be the world's premier aviation training company; known for its outstanding customer service, superior quality training and products, operational excellence and talented Teammates.

Essential Functions:

  • Under management guidance and supervision, plans, coordinates/administrates/monitors activities of designated projects to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame. Must possess fundamental knowledge of principles and techniques of Project Management.
  • Analyze current initiatives, new projects, required improvement areas - standardized project management solutions, integration with current systems and migration to optimized (NextGen) process flows, tools and techniques; and/or
  • Sustain PMIS/CAP/BAP/PlayBook along with new initiatives - build, design and maintenance of SharePoint, Communications and offering project management solutions for new projects and current initiatives.
  • Follow complete life cycle for assigned projects, plan/execute/control/close.
  • Interface with all areas affected by the project, including end users, distributors, and vendors
  • Mentor the project team throughout the project life cycle in project management best practices to promote efficiency
  • Report project statuses to Stakeholders and Sponsors and Project Management Operations (PMO) Director on a regular basis and/or as often as needed
  • Interact with appropriate FlightSafety International teammates to ensure resource requirements (personnel, hardware, software, other equipment, etc.) are accurate implemented

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in business, engineering or computer science from a four-year college or university preferred, or five (5) years' related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Equivalent years' experience must be in related field;

Minimum of three (3) years' experience directing, coordinating, and/or overseeing smaller projects or direct experience in initiating, planning, leading, executing projects within constrains of schedule and scope; OR five (5) years as a Project Manager and/or direct experience in initiating, planning, leading, executing projects within constrains of schedule and scope.

The Project Manager should demonstrate competence in some or all of the following:

  • Organize: Set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details/data/information/activities.
  • Plan: Determine strategies to move the organization forward, set goals, create and implement actions plans, and evaluate the process and results.
  • Solve Problems: Assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem.

    Aviation knowledge and terminology, a plus

Fluency in English, through both verbal and written communications; able to speak, understand, read and write.
