Micron is one of the largest memory companies in the world, and the largest in the US. Micron is at the leading edge of innovation in the DRAM, 3D-NAND, 3DXP, and several other memory technologies, and develops memory products for a whole spectrum of applications, including SSDs, mobile devices, and automobiles. This position at Micron is located in Folsom, California, at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Folsom is situated close to many great sites and attractions in the Northern California area.

As a Non-Volatile Engineering (NVE) Product Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for developing, validating, configuring, characterizing, and qualifying new non-volatile 3D-NAND Flash memory products. You will also enable volume manufacturing and coordinate test and analysis resources over the lifecycle of the product. In the pre-Si phase, you will run testmode and customer operation simulations, determine preliminary configuration of the product, and create and maintain design documentation to prepare for Si. In the post-Si phase, you will analyze parametric/test/characterization data, determine configuration of product to maximize performance/yield/reliability, and debug/solve yield, quality and reliability failures. In this role, you will also work with various Engineering and Manufacturing groups to troubleshoot, develop and validate device testing programs. Responsibilities also include identifying and validating lab equipment needs and identifying and/or modifying tests for customer returns to meet specific product requirements. You will also act as a product-specific point of contact working with Application Engineers, evaluating and providing feedback on data sheets. Product Engineers are the key interface between Research and Development, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Quality Assurance departments.


  • Prepare for Si phase of 3D-NAND Flash memory products thru running product simulations, determining preliminary product configuration, and creating documentation
  • Debug and configure the 3D-NAND Si to ensure it meets Product Expectations. This involves testing and characterizing the Si, configuring product to maximize product operating window, and debug yield and quality/reliability failures.
  • Partner with other Engineering, Manufacturing and Marketing groups to develop and ship a successful product
  • Provide Technical Training and Expertise

Position requires a Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a Bachelor's degree in same field with some relevant experience in the semiconductor industry

Course work in logic/analog design, device physics, semiconductor process, C/C++, and statistics is highly desirable
