Seattle, WASoftware - Simulation/Full-time/HybridThe Zoox simulation team is looking for experienced software engineers to take our in-house realtime 3D engine to the next level. You will work closely with simulation engineers and technical artists to improve the fidelity and performance of our 3D engine.
Join us to improve our critical graphics stack and to help realize safe, enjoyable autonomous driving for everyone.ResponsibilitiesDevelop core rendering features, engine improvements, and toolsResearch and implement rendering techniquesWrite high-quality, performant, and maintainable codeAnalyze workflows and bottlenecks in the production process and identify opportunities for automation to improve efficiencyCollaborate cross-functionally with engineering and art teamsQualifications6+ years of professional experience in relevant domainsHigh proficiency in C+Extensive experience with at least one modern Graphics API (Vulkan, Direct3D12, Metal)Experience with multi-threaded programmingStrong teamwork and communication skillsSolid understanding of 3D mathPreferred QualificationsExperience with 3D game engines like Unity or UnrealFamiliarity with AAA game assets and code pipelinesExperience with Houdini and/or MayaKnowledge of modern rendering techniques (eg, Physically Based Rendering)Experience with ray tracing and related topicsExperience with PythonCompensationThere are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary will range from $200,000 to $285,000.
A sign-on bonus may be part of a compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
