Manager with sustained experience in EV batteries and passion to advance battery cell technology. This position requires strong process engineering skills in R&D and pilot Li-ion battery cell manufacturing operations as well as familiarity with novel equipment development and electrochemical testing methods. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches their work with vigor and determination.

Successful candidates should demonstrate an exceptional ability to solve problems in both individual and team settings. Our team is focused on development, selection and validation of cell materials, design, process, and manufacturing hardware by building prototype cells in cylindrical form factor. Your responsibility will be to lead innovative cell prototyping processes to accelerate the development of Lucid technology and collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve problems.

The Role: Mentor People: Oversee and grow a team of creative and passionate process engineers, equipment supervisors, and operations & maintenance technicians. Oversee a Facility: Owner of all cycling equipment and cell prototyping capabilities. Experience and fluency with overseeing large CAPEX projects that require close partnership with engineering and architectural services.

Process Development: Leverage an understanding of process performance relationships to implement improvements or new designs. Collaborate with Component Design: Establish quality management indicators of each components' manufacturing process resulting in productivity or performance improvements and provide feedback to design & modeling engineers to reinforce high impact or yield decision choices. Own Budget: Responsible for annual facility CAPEX/OPEX budget as well as contract negotiations with key suppliers.

Drive Quality: Develop, standardize, and establish quality for baseline processing/operating conditions. Land Tools: Responsible for commissioning and qualification activities including FAT, SAT, automation checkouts, IQ, OQ, PQ, and asset/preventive maintenance/spare parts creation for new process equipment. Grow Partnerships: Own relationships with external equipment vendors, material suppliers, and technology partners to grow our various prototyping and testing capabilities.

Safety champion: Set a standard for safe tools, processes, and behaviors that other teams at Lucid will seek to emulate. Qualifications: 5+ years industry experience in a managing/leading role focused on lithium-ion battery manufacturing and/or testing (eg slurry mixing, coating, calendaring, and slitting, Jelly-roll winding, Cell assembly, Formation, Cycling) Strong Understanding and Experience in Quality Management and DFMA Established track record planning, designing, and landing (FAT/SAT) equipment exceeding $10m. Excellent communication and project management skills in both technical and non-technical environments - experience communicating with external parties and managing vendors is preferred.

Ability to drive large/open programs towards clear schedules and deliverables. Six-sigma certifications such as green-belt and/or black-belt are preferred. Familiarity with data analysis (eg JMP, Minitab), statistical process control, process capability analysis, PFMEA and quality management Education:Masters or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent preferred.

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid's equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.
