We also forecast business metrics, evaluate the causal impact of business decisions, design statistical and machine learning models to optimize our product, and leverage our data to generate insights for our customers. The breadth of the problem space is huge, spanning machine learning, optimization, causal inference, experimental design, econometrics, and prediction domains. We have only begun to dig into the difficult and diverse problems in our two-sided marketplace.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Machine Learning Scientist to take ownership of our marketplace, design an innovative auction system, determine optimal price points, and engage in designing the auction for feedback. Your Impact at Convoy:Ownership of Marketplace: Take ownership of our marketplace platform and drive its evolution by integrating cutting-edge machine learning techniques and optimization algorithms.Auction System Design: Design and develop an innovative auction system that maximizes efficiency, matches shippers with carriers, and ensures fair pricing.

Optimal Price Points: Analyze data, develop models, and implement algorithms to determine optimal price points for different trucking capacities, routes, and market conditions.Feedback Analysis: Continuously analyze feedback from shippers and carriers to identify areas for improvement, fine-tune auction parameters, and optimize performance.Machine Learning Development: Develop and implement machine learning models and algorithms to enhance the auction process, improve matching accuracy, and drive revenue growth.

Collaborative Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, and data scientists to ensure seamless integration of the auction system within the marketplace platform.Research and Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning, optimization techniques, and market dynamics to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.About You:Leadership and Domain Experience: PhD or MS in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math/OR, Engineering, or related quantitative field with a minimum of 5+ years of experience developing machine learning solutions.

Technical Aptitude: Experience using Python and SQL for deploying and maintaining models in production. Technical Problem Solving: Ability to frame business problems as automated decision solutions and contribute as a technical leader on our collaborative teamsIntelligent but practical; you want to get things done and love simplicity.A plus if you have experience in two-sided marketplaces, financial markets and economic theory.

This range depends on factors including but not limited to applicant's location, skills, prior relevant experience, and leveling. We want our employees to have a stake in Convoy's success, so full-time employees are also eligible to receive equity grants. Additionally for certain roles, employees may be eligible to earn incentives in the form of commissions, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
