Every single day, we seek to establish an inclusive line between that purpose and our day-to-day work.The preclinical process development team is seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist to join the group. The Research Scientist will play a key role in the development of CAR T cell manufacturing process focusing on CAR T cell product fitness and metabolism.

The role will lead from bench and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support multiple cell therapy programs and advance pipeline candidates.ResponsibilitiesCAR T cell therapy process development and optimizationT cell characterization focusing on CAR T cell product fitness and metabolismExplore T cell metabolic modulation during T cell manufacturing to improve T cell fitnessWork in close collaboration with cross-functional teams supporting pipeline projectsMentor junior scientist in informal settingCommunicate plans and scientific results in both oral and written formsCoordination of tasks across multiple projects, demonstrating prioritization and planning, managing timelines and deliverablesKeep electronic notebook and batch record.Basic QualificationsDoctorate ORMaster's and 6+ years of scientific experience ORBachelor's and 8+ years of scientific experiencePreferred QualificationsPh.D.

in Chemical Engineering/Biomedical Engineering/Immunology/Cancer BiologyResearch experience with a successful publication track recordExperience with development of unit operations applicable in the manufacturing of genetically engineered T cell based therapyAdvanced cell culture techniques with preference for human T cell or other immune cell typesProficient in utilizing analytical methods characterizing and understanding cell therapy productCritical thinking, problem solving, and trouble shooting skillsProven track record to be self-motivated, creative, and work both independently and within a highly dynamic teamComfortable in a fast-paced company and able to adjust workload based upon changing prioritiesStrong organizational skills and record keepingExcellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in a collaborative work environmentIn-depth understanding of immune metabolismKnowledge of state-of-art cell therapy bioprocess technologiesProficiency in operating closed systems in cell therapy manufacturingDoes this sound like you? Kite considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary.
