If you're passionate about making a substantial difference and propelling technological progress, apply now and become an integral part of our forward-thinking team!The System Design Engineer of End User Computing is a strategic role responsible for leading the innovation and advancement of T-Mobile's end-user computing environment.

Specific tasks may include architecting, validating, and deploying advanced technical solutions that enhance the user experience and productivity. Responsibilities may include the evaluation and translation of requirements into design, evaluate design benefits and tradeoffs, validate design compliance and support deployment of the design to ensure the requirements were met. Development of tools may be required to most efficiently solve technical or business challenges including technology evolution, capacity management, and performance optimization.

Technical documentation and presentation skills are required to convey design benefits to a wide range of audiences. Works on technical assignments that are difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations. Determines methods and procedures on new assignments.

Works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions. Normally receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments.

May be informal team leader. The System Design Engineer will be the driving force behind the development and maintenance of sophisticated designs for end-user systems, incorporating various management and security capabilities and products. The primary goal is to ensure system security, performance, and supportability, while optimizing costs and expediting delivery.

Job Responsibilities:Technical System Expertise: Demonstrate a deep understanding of end-user computing parameters and configurations, with expertise in major client Operating Systems (Windows, MacOS, Linux), Microsoft SCCM, Microsoft Intune/Autopilot, and Jamf for optimal system management. Lead the integration of AI and ML technologies to automate and refine computing processes. Serve as the expert for the foundational components, interactions, dependencies, and tools necessary for comprehensive system design.

Independent study of current technology is expected. Good understanding of adjacent processes and workflows. Develop deep understanding of the End User Computing data repositories to analyze and translate data to identify trends and environmental problems.

Technical Engineering Services: Drives engineering projects and mentor team members through the application of advanced engineering practices; manage testing and inspections; produce detailed reports and complex analyses. Expected to supervise base through senior level engineers as needed. Will be expected to present project improvement scenarios to management for consideration.

Formulate and enhance procedures to validate, improve, and optimize end-user computing environments. Able to lead others through various scenarios and explain the variance and impact. Able to prepare executive summaries of activities and clearly communicate areas of opportunity.

Innovation: Develops, designs and implements new ideas which improve end-user computing systems/processes/services. Investigative independent study and problem solving for non-routine tasks. Analyzes existing processes and vendor roadmaps to highlight upcoming technology changes that would make the processes or tools more effective within a given VP function.

Drives to improve designs, processes, or product by reducing cost, improving efficiency, or quality. Initiates and facilitates brainstorming sessions and product and process improvement dialogues.Technical Writing: Writes advanced technical documentation that outlines the architecture, capabilities, limitations, and benefits of end-user computing technologies.

Creates and modifies clear documentation on existing and new systems. Able to design and communicate technical system specifications and business requirements. Able to present complex ideas to non-technical audience.

Creates and presents executive presentations. Participate in industry professional norms.Technical Leadership: Monitor and influence relevant industry technologies and standards.

Present highly technical concepts to both technical and non-technical decision-makers. Continuously learns, creates content, and teaches others specific subject areas. Informally coaches and contributes to the development of others through mentoring or in house workshops and learning sessions.

Coach and develop engineers across functional teams on technology decisions. Influence technology and policy decisions made across the VP organization. Understand financial decisions, including NPV and ROI, based on customer experience/business drivers.

The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay may be above or below this range. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year.

Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance, while Retail and Business Sales roles are eligible for monthly or quarterly sales incentives.
