A mid-sized, Boston based law firm is seeking an IP Foreign Filing Paralegal to join their Intellectual Property Department. This person will be responsible for providing support to the IP Department attorneys, and clients for all international and foreign patent filing activities for the life cycle of the applications, including the preparation and filing of PCT-related documents and documents required by foreign associates for foreign patent applications.

Responsibilities include: Prepare and file documents for Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) applications and prosecution. Prepare and send National Phase Applications and directly filed foreign applications instructions and appropriate documents to our foreign associates. Work with attorneys, clients, and foreign associates as necessary to respond to official actions related to PCT and foreign patent applications, throughout the life cycle of the application.

Prepare and obtain signatures for formal documents, including Declarations, Powers of Attorney, Assignments, and other formal documents as required for PCT and by foreign countries. Process documents requiring notarization and authentication or legalization for filing in specific jurisdictions. Research Patent Cooperative Treaty law and foreign patent law for prosecution purposes.

Work with the Docketing Department to track, clear, and report statutory deadlines. Requirements: A minimum of 3-5 years IP foreign filing experience is required. Thorough knowledge of PCT and foreign patent rules and procedures, including processes and procedures for interacting with clients and foreign law firms to advance foreign patent applications is required
