We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join a thriving academy as a Computer Science & Business Subject Lead or a Business Subject Lead. This permanent position will commence in September 2024, offering a competitive Main Scale salary along with a TLR supplement of up £3,214.

The Computer and Business Lead is responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of the Computer Science and Business curriculum. This role involves leading a team of educators, driving innovation in teaching and learning, and promoting excellence in both academic and vocational pathways for students.

Key Responsibilities:

As Computer and Business Lead you will play a pivotal role in driving excellence in both Computer Science and Business education within the academy. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Develop and review the Computer Science and Business curriculum in line with national standards and educational best practices
  • Design engaging and relevant schemes of work, resources, and assessments to support student learning and progression
  • Ensure the curriculum reflects the latest advancements in technology, business practices, and industry trends
  • Lead, motivate, and support a team of educators teaching Computer Science and Business subjects
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning within the Computer Science and Business department
  • Implement strategies to address areas for improvement and promote high standards of attainment and progress
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) with a degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field
  • Proven experience teaching Computer Science and/or Business subjects at secondary school level
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
  • Up-to-date knowledge of curriculum developments, educational trends, and assessment strategies in Computer Science and Business education
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
