Role Overview:

We are looking to onboard a SQL Developer with financial services experience, working for emagine onsite with a leading Global Investment Bank. The successful SQL Developer will join a team in London and help ensure the robustness and efficiency of various key business processes through effective data management and insights.

Please note we are only screening applications with 3+ years' experience as a SQL Developer/SQL Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Combine SQL development expertise with coaching and support for team members.

  • Act as a trusted authority and specialist, providing advice and guidance to team members and managers.

  • Collaborate with a team of software engineers to identify and prioritise improvements.

  • Take ownership of tech decisions and balance speed, quality, and functionality.

  • Work closely with the Product team to understand end-user requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.

  • Mentor and collaborate with software teams on code review, version control, architecture, pair programming, and software design.

Solution/Key Deliverables:

  • Candidates with good SQL skills are needed.

  • Object-oriented skills.

  • Data warehousing experience.

  • Responsibilities include checking data, providing insights, and ensuring that builds are robust.

Data Warehousing:

  • Background: Looking for individuals who see data as the blood flowing through an organization.

  • Data-oriented: Understanding how data is structured and moves end to end.

  • Focus on data quality and maintaining it across a greater number of applications.

  • Must be able to handle a lot of trading information.
