We are currently recruiting for a Director, Information & Learning Technology to work with the Office of the Dean in the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies for this exciting opportunity.

Do you possess an understanding of information technology governance, systems development methodologies, inventory management and asset tracking, data management, policy development and implementation, and regulatory/legal issues for technology? In this role, you will be responsible for planning, developing, integrating and delivering information and learning technology strategies, services and processes that directly support LA&PS' strategic direction. The Director works collaboratively with their eServices team, leaders from across LA&PS and campus colleagues to foster a client focused culture of excellence, inclusion and continuous improvement, which supports the Faculty's academic, research and administrative operations and objectives. The Director has accountability for developing and safeguarding the Faculty's information and learning technology services, systems, processes, analytics and equipment (including computer labs), and for researching and planning the next generation of learning and academic support systems for the Faculty. They lead the development and implementation of the LA&PS computing plan and technology strategy and represent the Faculty within the University regarding technology standards, policies and planning. Their efforts, combined with those of their team, have a direct positive impact on the campus experience for students, faculty and staff. The Director provides coaching, guidance and leadership to the eServices team in their support of Schools, Departments and Colleges across the Faculty. The Director works closely with the Executive Director, Strategy & Administration to develop the strategic direction and with their team to ensure goals and results are achieved with a strong client service focus.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will possess:

A Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline (eg Computer Science or Information Technology), or an equivalent combination of related education and experience. Project Management Professional (PMP) designation and a relevant Master's degree is preferred. In addition, the successful incumbent will possess a minimum 7 years of proven leadership experience, with a minimum of 10 years working in information technology service provision and/or advanced information technology project management capacity. Experience with strategic planning and execution, process mapping and transformation, change management, and designing, building and managing a dynamic infrastructure that has improved service, reduced costs and managed risk is required. Preference will be given to candidates with advanced experience in microcomputing/Workstation hardware and software installation and support, including LAN installation, configuration and systems administration; experience identifying and implementing learning technologies in an academic setting; and experience leading teams in a unionized environment.
