| Jobshark
was founded in June 1997 and is Canada's oldest online job board.
There are now a record 1 million skilled job
seekers registered on the site.
How does Jobshark collect information
on its users to better help you reach the skilled ones you want
not the ones you don't?
Upon registration, all job seekers
provide us with their Skills Profile. We use this information
to match your job against their Profile which is based on a
multitude of criteria that includes their skills, experience,
location, salary expectations, etc. Our Profile matching software
called JAWS then broadcasts
your full job description by email to all matching candidates
found in our Profile database, which ensures that the job is
quickly seen by the most qualified people.
As a Bonus, Jobshark has a secondary
matching system that is common with all job boards called simply-
"Job Alerts". Here we send out email
alerts with a bunch of jobs to job seekers that match their
key words against similar words found in the job description.
The Job Alert email contains your job title and a brief summary
of the job, which then links back into Jobshark for users to
view the full job description.
A posting on Jobshark will also advertise
your job to our 300,000 - 400,000 monthly visitors to
the site.
Jobshark's matching service, known
as JAWS, provides the following advantages:
 |
Identifies the most highly
qualified applicants since candidates are pre-screened
according to the Employment profile they filled in upon
registration. |
 |
Delivers immediate results
by emailing job openings to job seekers who fit the profile
of the desired candidate. |
 |
Enables you to reach highly
qualified passive job seekers since job seekers are not
required to actively visit the Jobshark.com web site to
view job matches. |
 |
All candidates who have
received the matching email and applied will be specially
marked in your 'Resume Centre' so you can save time by
reviewing pre-qualified candidates first. |
 |
Results show that over
60% of candidates apply through JAWS vs only 37% through
Job Search. |
