Strong local partners and proprietary technology propel Canadian success-story into new 500-million-person market

TORONTO - JobShark Corporation, Canada’s leading online recruitment firm, is cementing its global leadership with an aggressive expansion throughout Latin America.

In launching JobShark Ibero-America, the company becomes the world’s only online recruiter to operate in North America, Europe and South America.

JobShark’s new venture is in partnership El Sitio Inc. and MaST Americas – two corporate heavyweights in the local market. The Canadian company will retain control of JobShark Ibero-America, and is opening offices in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Peru and Columbia.

El Sitio (NASDAQ: LCTO) is Latin America’s preeminent Web portal and content provider in the Spanish and Portuguese languages. The company has 500 employees and last year raised US$200-million on the NASDAQ market. MaST Americas is the Latin American arm of British-based MaST, a transnational human resources and organizational development firm.

Klotz noted that JobShark had done its homework before entering Latin America. "We quietly entered Chile six months ago to test our business model. In that short time, we have amassed more than 100,000 Chilean registrants and gained some 70 corporate clients.
