JobServe & JobShark Reach Out to Candidates
|
March 4, 2010 The history of the JobServe and JobShark brands has always been closely linked to the IT community - JobShark was launched and quickly reputed as the premier place to recruit Canadian IT workers, and JobServe was a job board built by IT contractors for IT contractors. As such the joining of the two brands in the Canadian market place made sense, and recent developments at JobServe and JobShark hark back to their origins. Although there has been a lot of water under the bridge since those early days and the sites now serve job seekers across many industry sectors, JobServe has reinforced its technical credentials with the recent launch of www.labs.jobserve.com a web site for the technically minded. "JobServe Labs has been set up to give our IT candidates the opportunity to see what projects we are currently working on and give them the chance of participating in the various technical debates taking place within our development team", said James Wren, General Manager Search Products & User Experience at JobServe. Wren added "When we launched our iPhone application we received really good feedback from candidates and JobServe Labs gave us the forum both to explain what we were developing and receive feedback". "Following on from this initiative we have now launched www.yourvoice.jobserve.com an open forum where users of JobServe can leave messages and start discussions on any topic they want us to hear". "To stay on top we must listen to the opinions of our customers and candidates and we hope JobServe's "Your Voice" provides them with such an opportunity", Wren said. Discussing the importance of technical innovation at JobServe, Chris Windram, General Manager Information & Technology said "Our consistent strategy has been to use technology to help make job hunting easier and from the feedback we get we will continue with this quest". "We look to our candidates to tell us what additional functionalities they would like us to add to our service. The iPhone app was one such request and we jumped right on it. So what’s next?" Chris concluded. About JobServe JobServe Canada was formed in January 2007 as the result of the acquisition of JobShark.com, Canada's largest independent job board.
