Jobshark has had a remarkable ride since its inception back in July 1997. This summer Jobshark celebrated its 5th year anniversary, and we can hardly believe it. Through all the hype and subsequent Internet meltdown, we continue to pioneer the industry.


When we started many of you had never used the Internet before, and most had not used the Internet to recruit. In 1998, only 17% of the world's 500 largest corporations used the Internet to actively recruit , today, 95% of fortune 500 company's use the Internet to source candidates and over 60% of the public in the USA have used the Internet to look for a job.

Today, Jobshark has the largest Skill Set Database in Canada with over 580,000 registered Job Seekers, and over 2000 corporate clients. Our subscriber base continues to grow impressively, with approximately 10,000 new subscribers each month. In September, we had over 450,000 job seekers visiting Jobshark.ca. The Greater Toronto Area continues to be our strongest market, followed by Vancouver, Ottawa and Calgary.

We have added many new features and services to our offerings, however, our core competitive advantage remains our ability to offer a "superior match" between job seekers skill sets and the recruiter's skill requirements for the job. By broadcasting your job into the hands of hundreds, sometimes thousands of skill set matching Job Seekers within 2 hours of posting your job, Jobshark can immediately provide you with qualified applicants. This capability remains unmatched when compared against all other online recruitment companies.

Our focus has always centered on providing you with as much information on the applicant as possible, while providing you with state of the art resume management tools to make the process hassle-free. This is why with Jobshark, you receive not just a resume but also the applicants Skill Set Profile and the capability to review up to five pre-screening questions that you can pose upon application.

Internationally, the Jobshark Global Network has expanded in to new territories. We recently completed a contract with the government of El Salvadore and created ijobshark which utilizes the Jobshark technology as the backbone for all the job centers across the country. Our Peruvian business, EC Jobshark, continues to be a major success with our partner El Comercial, the leading newspaper group in Peru. Globally, Jobshark now has over 1 million members.

Canada remains the major focus of our business, with such a massive database of Jobseekers tied into our JAWS matching technology, our success in filling jobs with quality candidates remains extraordinarily high and unmatched.
